SINOPSIS Jack (Stanley Tucci) has leukemia, a carcinogenic disease for tissues and bone marrow. Jack's parents do not accept the treatment offered by the hospital to save his life (blood transfusion), since they are Jehovah's Witnesses and for them the blood is sacred because the soul is there. Fiona Maye (Emma Thompson) is the judge in London who takes the case and decides to do the transfusion, even knowing the consequences this would bring.
