in the movie we can see a moral problem between religion and the law that protects life, this is given through a trial conducted by judge fiona, this trial is given because of the hospital considers life is  on religion. Which does not allow him to make a blood transfusion. Because this religion believes saul is in the blood and life, therefore belongs to god and a blood transfusion is to contaminate it.
